Three pictures, one adventure
A story can begin before you can write a long sentence.
Take your time. Speak, draw or write your answers.
Here is what is happening.
Stories often connect a beginning, a change and an ending. Imagine a paper boat beside a puddle: a child notices it, moves it away from a drain and puts it on a dry step. Pictures, gestures and spoken words can all tell this small story.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.Your little investigation
What you need
Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.
Draw the beginning, middle and end in three boxes.
Tell the story using “first”, “then” and “finally”.
Change the final picture and explain how the ending changes.
