Where is the sound hiding?
A quiet hum can start an investigation.
Take your time. Speak, draw or write your answers.
Here is what is happening.
Sound begins with vibrations. When you hum softly, you may feel movement at your throat. A drawing cannot show sound directly, so we use clues such as movement or what we hear. People can notice vibration by touch too. A louder sound is not automatically a better observation.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?

What you need
Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.
Hum softly; if comfortable, rest your fingers lightly on your own throat.
Stop humming and compare. Describe what you noticed without shouting.
Draw two panels: humming and quiet. Add arrows for movement you felt.
