A message asks for a secret
You can pause before pressing a button.
Take your time. Speak, draw or write your answers.
Here is what is happening.
A message on a screen is not automatically trustworthy. If it asks for a password, code or private detail, stop and ask a trusted adult. You do not have to respond quickly just because a message says “hurry”. Practise with imaginary messages, never real passwords.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.Your little investigation

Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.
Read this imaginary message: “Send your secret code to win a toy.”
Point to the request for a secret and the pressure to respond.
Practise saying, “I will ask my trusted adult first.”
