A model helps us see a world too large to hold.

Here is what is happening.
A globe is a model of Earth. Colours and labels can represent land and water. The real planet is much larger, and a model leaves out tiny details. Symbols help us talk about places; they do not mean every land area or body of water looks the same.

Draw an imaginary globe and mark land and water with labels as well as colours.
Explain which parts of your drawing represent which features.
