Words travel through screens
A typed message reaches a real person.
Take your time. Speak, draw or write your answers.
Here is what is happening.
A short message can feel different to the reader than you intended. Before sending, ask whether it is kind and clear. If a message upsets or confuses you, you can stop replying and talk with a trusted adult. You never have to keep an upsetting online interaction secret.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.Your little investigation

Compare imaginary messages: “You are bad” and “Can we try that turn again?”
Explain which talks about the action rather than insulting the person.
Write a kind request for a game or group activity.
Which message focuses on an action?
