A bookmark with a job
Make something small that solves a real little problem.
Take your time. Speak, draw or write your answers.
Here is what is happening.
A bookmark helps you find where you stopped reading. A good design should fit the book and avoid damaging the page. Decoration can make it personal, but the job comes first. You can fold paper rather than needing a special craft kit.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.Your little investigation
What you need
Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.
Fold a small paper strip and place it gently between pages.
Add a picture showing the kind of stories you enjoy.
Test whether you can find the page again without bending it.
What is the bookmark’s main job?
