01 / UNDERSTAND

Here is what is happening.

Visual hierarchy makes some information easier to notice first. Size, spacing and contrast can separate a title, time and action. A crowded poster may hide all three. Use words with symbols so meaning does not depend on colour alone, and check readability from a practical distance.

Pause. Make the idea your own.

Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?

You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.
02 / MAKE IT YOUR OWN

Your little investigation

What you need

Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.

  1. Create a fictional book-sharing event poster. Mark its date as an example.

  2. Give the title, time and location different levels of emphasis.

  3. Test it in black and white and ask what a reader noticed first.

03 / CHECK YOUR UNDERSTANDING
