Before a photo leaves your phone
Being in a picture does not mean agreeing to share it.
Take your time. Speak, draw or write your answers.
Here is what is happening.
A photo may reveal people, a school name or a location. Ask before sharing someone’s image and involve a trusted adult when children are pictured. A person may say no or change their mind. For this exercise, use a drawing of fictional people instead of real photographs.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.Your little investigation

Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.
Draw a fictional group picture with a school sign in the background.
Circle details that could reveal identity or location.
Write a permission question that makes saying no comfortable.
