01 / UNDERSTAND

Here is what is happening.

People may want different activities, space or levels of participation. Saying no politely is allowed, and hearing no does not make the invitation a failure. In a fictional group game, ask what someone is comfortable with and offer alternatives without pressure. A trusted adult can help when a situation feels unsafe.

Pause. Make the idea your own.

Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?

You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.
02 / MAKE IT YOUR OWN

  1. Imagine a friend does not want to join a noisy game.

  2. Write a respectful reply that accepts the choice.

  3. Offer a quieter option without demanding an explanation.
