Which part should a viewer notice first?
Take your time. Speak, draw or write your answers.
Here is what is happening.
Foreground and background help organise a picture. Overlap can suggest that one object is in front of another. In many scenes, similar objects look smaller farther away. These are drawing clues, not rules that every artist must use. Choose what helps tell your story.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
