One number needs a method
Two readings disagree. Is someone necessarily wrong?
Here is what is happening.
A measurement depends on the instrument and how it is used. Two temperature readings taken at different places or times do not describe identical conditions. Before comparing, check units, location and timing. Record unusual values and investigate them instead of quietly changing them.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.Your little investigation
Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.
Read this example: a shaded room is 26°C at 9 am; a sunny wall is 31°C at noon.
List two conditions that differ. These are example readings, not a live weather report.
Plan a comparison using the same place, time and kind of instrument.
