Big is not always dense
Two blocks have equal mass but different volumes.
Here is what is happening.
Density compares mass with volume: density = mass ÷ volume. A large object can have a lower density than a small one. Units matter: grams per cubic centimetre differ from grams alone. Our example blocks are invented for calculation; their values do not identify a real material.
