An algorithm you can explain
Computing begins with a clear method.
Here is what is happening.
An algorithm is an ordered method for completing a task. To sort numbers, compare neighbouring values and swap them when they are out of order, repeating as needed. A method should state when it stops. Testing includes duplicates and lists that are already sorted.
Pause. Make the idea your own.
Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?
You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.Your little investigation
Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.
Write 4, 1, 3, 1 on paper cards or boxes.
Compare neighbours and swap if the left value is larger; repeat whole passes.
Stop after a complete pass with no swaps and explain why.
What is the sorted ascending list?
Another question is waiting.
Why does a metal spoon feel cooler?
Feeling temperature and measuring it are different things.
Keep the recipe in proportion
Double a recipe without changing its balance.
