01 / UNDERSTAND

Here is what is happening.

A digital assistant can produce useful explanations and also make mistakes, including invented references. Treat its answer as something to evaluate. For a factual claim, find an original source, check the date and compare what the source actually says. Never enter private student records into a tool merely to test it.

Pause. Make the idea your own.

Explain one idea to a partner, draw it or write it in your own words. Which part is an observation, an example or a question?

You can use a home language. No need to share personal experiences or finish everything in one sitting.
02 / MAKE IT YOUR OWN

Your little investigation

What you need

Paper and a pencil, or a partner to talk with. Drawing and speaking are welcome.

  1. Use an invented claim: “Every planet has exactly one moon.”

  2. Explain how an official astronomy source could test it; do not trust polished wording.

  3. Write a correction that identifies the claim and gives traceable evidence.

03 / CHECK YOUR UNDERSTANDING

What is the strongest reason to accept a factual claim?
